Translation:

The paryanka [position] consists of the lower part of the thighs being placed on the feet [and] the hands being placed [near] the navel pointing upwards (south-north).

Benefits:

  • Stretches the abdominals, thoracic muscles
  • Brings flexibility to the spine and back
  • Strengthens the thigh muscles, the sacral region
  • It relieves constipation and increases digestion
  • Relieves leg aches and pain
  • Relieves menstrual disorders and reproductive problems

Contraindication – Avoid if suffering from sacral pain or knee pain
