How do I register for the Yoga Teacher Training Program?

Program fee is all-inclusive, with pure vegetarian satvic meals, training materials, and accommodation. Note that transportation to Bidadi is the participant’s responsibility.

 

Does everyone who completes the program receive the certification? 

Everyone who completes the full curriculum for the program and successfully passes all examinations, living and radiating the space of Nithya Yoga, will receive the title of Nithya Yoga teacher and a certificate from Nithyananda University.

 

How proficient in yoga do you have to be to do the program?

 Is this program Yoga Alliance certified?

The Nithya Yoga teacher training meets the highest standards of Yoga Alliance. However, it is not certified by Yoga Alliance, but by Nithyananda University.

 

Can I get insurance even if not recognized by Yoga Alliance?

Which city should I fly into?

Fly into Bengaluru International Airport (Bangalore) in the state of Karnataka.

Note: Please enter your flight details in the travel planner link which will be sent to you.  Please ensure this is done a few days prior to your flight departure date.

 

How do I get to the ashram from the International  airport at Bengaluru?

You can either get the airport taxi yourself or request in the travel planner to be met at the airport.  This is preferable if this is your first trip to India or the ashram.  Collect your luggage and exit the airport hall. An ashram volunteer holding a placard with Swamiji’s picture will wait for you at the airport exit door. He will then arrange for your taxi.   Taxi fare is around 1700 rupees. Please have 2000 rupees handy for the taxi fare.  It takes between 2-3 hours to reach the ashram depending on the time of day and traffic.

 

Will I be able to check in if I arrive in the middle of the night?

Yes, most of the international flights arrive late in the night or early in the morning. The Ashram will be prepared to receive you.  It is essential that you let us know of your flight plans before you take off so we will know when to  expect you.

 

Accommodation

Shared rooms with attached bathroom  are available. Accommodations are allotted on a first come first serve basis based on the date of full payment of program.  Private rooms are not available.  Accommodation for all participants is shared.  In the shared rooms, there is an attached toilet and shower in each room. 1 day before and 1 day after the program accommodation is included.

Ashram Dress code


In adherence to the Ashram dress code and with respect to the Vedic culture, men and women participants are not to wear tank tops, tube tops, shorts and hot pants. Please also refrain from wearing scooped necklines, transparent or tight-fitting clothing. Please dress modestly in clothing that covers your shoulders, midriff and legs to the ankles. Despite the climatic demands, your co-operation and understanding in this matter is highly appreciated. Please bring black clothes for yoga and white clothes for satsang.

 

Are towels and bed linen provided?

Towels are not provided. Please bring quick drying, thin towels.

Single-sized bunk beds are provided in the shared rooms. Each participant will be provided with bedding which includes one bed sheet, one pillowcase and a light blanket. You are encouraged to bring your own linens if you wish to have a top sheet or are sensitive or particular about your bed linen.  Clean bed linens will be provided every few days.

 

Where do I keep my valuables?

Each participant who is staying at the Ashram will be given a locker to secure valuables.  Please bring a medium sized lock for your locker. Alternatively, you may carry your valuables in a pouch / bag that is kept in your possession at all times and for which you are fully responsible.

Standard sized suitcases can be stored under the bed. Please bring locks (combination or key locks) to lock your suitcases.

 

Food

Pure Vegetarian Indian Sattvic and continental options will be available to all participants. Continental option includes food like salad. Indian Sattvic food is vegetarian food without onions or garlic. (eggs and meat will not be served at any time).

Drinking Water

Filtered water for refilling of water bottles is provided at all times. You are advised to bring a water bottle as it is highly recommended that you drink plenty of water. Bottled/mineral water is also available for purchase at the convenience store located on-site.

 

Can I bring my electrical appliances?

You may bring electrical appliances like hair blow dryer, mobile phone chargers and other essentials. A voltage converter is needed to convert the power to 220 volts.  A wall plug adapter appropriate for India is also needed. Please bring them with you.

 

Can  I bring a laptop?  

Bringing your own laptop is highly recommended. You will be using it during the course of the program. Make sure you bring a wall adapter plug.

Will I be able to make international phone calls

A pay phone service is available for long distance and local calling whereby you pay per use (pay by cash)

 

Should I bring my own mat?

You can bring your own yoga mat.  Basic mats will be made available.

 

Are there supermarkets close by?

There is a convenience store onsite for basic amenities like shampoo, soap  and snacks.  Please bring your own supply if you are particular as there is limited choice.

The city of Bangalore experiences very favorable weather throughout the year. The warmest month in Bangalore is April and the coldest month is January. Participants who are sensitive to the sun should wear sun block, hat and sunglasses for protection. Slight drizzle (light showers) can be anticipated.

Toiletries and other items

Please bring all the toiletries needed for your stay (e.g. soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotions, feminine products, makeup, and lip balm). You can purchase some toiletries from the convenience store located on-site; however, if you have certain product preferences, it is best to bring those items with you.

·         Enriched cream for feet and cracked heel cream

·         Bandages and gauze
