Guptāsana

A variation of siddhasana for those who cannot sit in siddhasana

Translation:  Hide both feet between the knees, placing the anus on them. This is called guptasana.

Benefits:

  • Strengthens the abdominals, back and thighs
  • Opens the groin, hips
  • Stretching gluteal muscles and lower back
  • Stimulates digestion and elimination
  • Calms the mind and improves concentration
  • Relieves stress, anxiety and depression
  • Stimulates and disperses energy up the spine, inducing a meditative state
